The Gotland Collection is a line of jewelry handcrafted with extra quality transparent quartz and silver filigree. It is inspired by a Viking jewel from the 12th century that was found on the island of Gotland (Sweden), currently exhibited in the Stockholm History Museum. According to studies, some of the original lenses have a quality equal to modern lenses made with high-precision machines. The original jewels, called Visby lenses, could have been used as reading magnifiers, to build telescopes, to make fire, to burn wounds and as amulets.
