Moss agate is a microcrystalline variety of the quartz group, a type of chalcedony. There are many types of agate, its color depends on the different materials it may contain. The most abundant are gray, although they are also found in yellow, orange, white, blue and brown. The moss agate is a type of agate that does not have bands, it is characterized by its inclusions of green chlorite, iron oxide and manganese, reminiscent of plants or mosses.
