Description

La Gotland Collection is a line of jewelry made by hand, with extra quality transparent quartz and silver filigree. It is inspired by a 12th-century Viking gem that was found on the island of Gotland, Sweden, currently on display at the Stockholm History Museum. According to studies, some of the original lenses have a quality equal to modern lenses made with high precision machines. The original jewels, called Visby's lenses, could have been used as reading magnifiers, to build telescopes, to make fire, burn wounds and as amulets.
