MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

The unakite jasper is a granite composed of green epidote, pink feldspar and white quartz and grey. Its name comes from the place where it was discovered, the Unakite Mountains, in North Tennessee and North Carolina, in the United States.

In ancient times, North American indigenous peoples considered unakite a sacred stone. Today, it is one of the most used stones for the elaboration of North American indigenous crafts.
