MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Ulexite is a hydrated calcium and sodium borate that is usually found in rounded nodular aggregates, often forming white masses with a silky shine. It can also be found forming parallel, colorless, vitreous fibrous aggregates.

Ulexite is known as the television stone due to its ability to amplify and transfer the images through its optical fibers. The name ulexite comes from the German chemist George Ulex.

It is found in lacustrine salt pans and other evaporite basins in desert regions, formed from magmatic fluids rich in boron.< /p>
