MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The onyx or onyx is a variety of agate dark in color, with shades ranging from black to reddish, and with alternating white bands. It is composed of silica and is of volcanic origin. The word onyx comes from the Greek "onux" and means "nail" or "claw", in reference to its color. Onyx forms in silica deposition at low temperatures, as silica-rich water seeps through cracks in other rocks.
Deposits: India, Mexico, United States, Brazil, Russia and South Africa.
THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
The onyx or onyx is considered a stone of strength and vigor. Promotes self-confidence and a positive outlook on life. The onyx in combination with the rock crystal quartz is usually used as protection and for the energetic cleaning of spaces. Onyx is recommended when facing responsibilities and to stay calm.
On a curative level it is said that it is good for the teeth and bones, and that it reduces acute pain by putting it directly on the painful place. It is associated with the 1st chakra to root.
