The cat's eye or “chatoyancy” is an optical effect that can appear in several species of minerals. It is a vertical reflection caused by parallel fibrous inclusions. It usually appears in varieties of quartz, in chrysoberyls, in beryls, in tourmalines, in apatites, in garnets and in danburites.

THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES

The cat's eye is considered a stone of protection and cleaning. It is usually used in the 6th chakra to enhance intuition and to meditate. Promotes self-confidence and serenity. It is said to help heal eye disorders.
