MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

The blood jasper or heliotrope is a chalcedony that presents a mixture of microcrystalline quartz and polymorphic moganite. It is dark green with red spots (hematite).

The name of jasper comes from the Greek "iaspis", which means "stained stone".

Deposits: Australia, China, United States, India, Scotland, Brazil and the Czech Republic.

THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES
