MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Dioptase is a mineral of the silicate group, a subgroup of cyclosilicates. It forms secondarily from siliceous solutions containing copper, in cracks and crevices of limestone and sandstone rocks or in copper deposits.

Dioptase crystallizes in trigonal system with prismatic crystals and granular masses. It has a vitreous or matte sheen and a characteristic green color that ranges from emerald to dark bluish green.

The name dioptase comes from the Greek words "dia " and "opto", whose meanings are "through" and "vision", due to their transparency.

Deposits: Iran, Russia, Namibia, United States, Republic of Congo, Chile and Peru.

THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES

The dioptase is considered a healing stone associated with the heart chakra. It helps dissolve the wounds of abandonment of the inner child, brings a connection with one's own abilities in the present and brings a new vision and attitude towards life. It gives a new approach to love relationships.

Dioptase is a great mental cleanser and detoxifier. On a physical level, it is said to lower blood pressure, relieve headaches, reduce fatigue, regenerate the liver and help prevent heart disease.
