MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

The chalcopyrite is one of the most important copper ores. It is characterized by its metallic and iridescent shine surface. Its name comes from the Greek "khalkos" (copper) and "pyros" (fire). Chalcopyrite usually forms tetrahedral crystals, and although most chalcopyrites are compact, they often form twins. It is usually found in granites and igneous rocks, pegmatites, hydrothermal veins, tin ore veins, and black slates.

Deposits: United States, Canada, France, Namibia, Zambia, Chile, Peru, England, Germany, Spain, Russia, Spain, Japan and China.

THERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES

The chalcopyrite is a stone associated with prosperity and abundance. It favors the mental state for meditation and helps in the assimilation and circulation of energy throughout the body.
