MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS

The apophyllite is usually found associated with the stilbite, both are minerals belonging to the zeolites. It is characterized by its pearly shine on its surface. Apophyllite crystals are usually prismatic and tabular, with white, beige and gray tones, but there are also green, yellow, colorless, pink and brown crystals. It usually appears in volcanic rocks and cavities, although it can also be found in metamorphic rocks and hydrothermal deposits.

Deposits: India, Brazil, United States, Canada, Italy, Czech Republic, Australia, Great Britain, Germany, Mexico and Scotland.
