MINERALOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS
The mossy agate is a microcrystalline quartz belonging to the family of chalcedony. There are many types of agate, most of them are banded and are named according to their colors and drawings. The mossy agate is a type of agate that does not present bands and is characterized by its inclusions of green chlorite, iron oxide and manganese, reminiscent of plants or mosses.
