Labradorite belongs to the family of plagioplastic feldspars and is usually dark grey or bluish. It is characterized by its chromatic iridescence in different shades of purple, blue, orange, green and gold. These metallic glosses are the result of the labradorscence that presents its surface. Labradorite also usually displays parallel lines from the maclas that form it. It belongs to the group of silicates-tectosilicicates and its hardness is 6-6'5 on the Mohs scale.
