Blue chalcedony is a variety of microcrystalline quartz. It can be mamilar, botroidal or stalactytic. It appears in hydrothermal filons, volcanic rocks and sedimentary rocks. Blue chalcedony is white when pure, but may have different colors when it contains inclusions of other minerals.
