TheGotland Collection is a line of jewelry made by hand, with transparent quartz of extra quality and silver filigrees. It is inspired by a twelfth-century Viking jewel that was found on the island of Gotland (Sweden), currently exhibited in the Stockholm History Museum. According to studies, some of the original lenses have a quality comparable to modern lenses made with high-precision machines. The original jewels, called Visby lenses, could have been used as reading magnifiers, to build telescopes, to make fire, burn wounds, and as amulets.
