Mineralogical characteristics
Adularia belongs to the feldspar group and is considered a superior variety of orthoclase. Its name refers to the Adular mountains in Switzerland, where deposits of this mineral are found.
Adularia can be pink, grey, white, cream and yellow in tone. It is found in hydrothermal veins and usually forms twins, and it can also appear in massive, granular or cryptocrystalline form.
Adularia often displays an iridescence on its surface called adularescence.

Therapeutic properties
Adularia moonstone has the same properties as rainbow moonstone; both represent balance. They are very helpful for calming and balancing emotions and encouraging a state of peace and tranquility. Placed on the solar plexus or chi center, they help create this balance. Moonstone also represents the cyclical nature of the human being and supports emotional, mental and physical balance in processes of inner growth.
It is considered a spiritual stone and enhances the Yin part of people, which Taoism defines as the feminine principle, that of intuition, receptivity and creativity through non-action. It encourages balance between masculine and feminine energies. Moonstone is also known to be beneficial for the female reproductive cycle, for conditions related to menstruation and for balancing the hormonal system.
