Mineralogical characteristics
Cat’s eye or “chatoyancy” is an optical effect that can appear in several mineral species. It is a vertical reflection caused by parallel fibrous inclusions. It usually appears in varieties of quartz, in chrysoberyls, in beryls, in tourmalines, in apatites, in garnets and in danburites.
Therapeutic properties
Cat’s eye is considered a stone of protection and cleansing. It is often used on the 6th chakra to enhance intuition and for meditation. It encourages self-confidence and serenity. It is said to help heal eye disorders.
