Mineralogical characteristics
Labradorite belongs to the family of plagioclase feldspars. Although the base color of labradorite is grey, its surface displays chromatic iridescences of purple, orange, red, gold, blue and green. This characteristic is called adularescence and makes labradorite a valued stone for jewelry making.
The name labradorite comes from the place where it was first found, on the Labrador Peninsula, Canada.

Therapeutic properties
Labradorite is considered a stone of transformation and protection. Mystical and contemplative qualities are attributed to it. It encourages the opening of consciousness and stimulation of intuition.
