Mineralogical characteristics
Bloodstone jasper or heliotrope is a chalcedony that contains a mixture of microcrystalline quartz and polymorphic moganite. It is dark green and displays red spots (hematite).
The name jasper comes from the Greek "iaspis", meaning "spotted stone".

Therapeutic properties
Bloodstone jasper is considered a healing stone recommended for energizing the body and bringing vitality. It is also associated with cleansing, protection and grounding. It instills calm and courage.
On a healing level, it is said to help purify the blood and strengthen the immune system.
