Mineralogical characteristics
Howlite is a calcium borosilicate hydroxide. It usually forms masses of white nodules crossed by veins of other minerals, and although they are rare, the crystals are tabular.
Howlite was named in 1868 by the Canadian chemist Henry How.

Therapeutic properties
Howlite brings relaxation, helps calm the mind, supports sleep and encourages meditation. It promotes patience and good communication. It strengthens positive character traits. It is said that howlite prepares the mind to receive wisdom and understandings from past lives. On a healing level, it is said to balance calcium levels in the body and is especially beneficial for bones, teeth and soft tissues.
