Mineralogical characteristics
Fulgurite or lightning stone is the result of a lightning strike on a sand or sandstone surface, so it is very common to find it in desert areas. The sudden temperature increase of thousands of degrees Celsius melts the siliceous particles, forming these peculiar, fragile, thin tubular glasses in a root-like shape. They can extend up to one meter into the earth’s surface. Their inner part is smooth or has small bubbles, while the outside is rough and covered with sand grains.
Fulgurite is generally found in ochre and brown, white, translucent, black or grey colors.
Deposits
Morocco, United States, Russia, India and Japan.
Therapeutic properties
Fulgurite is considered a powerful tool that opens the way in shamanic journeys. It is used to raise prayers or to manifest dreams.
Fulgurite helps release old habits and blockages and find new ways, with higher and more positive intentions.
