Mineralogical characteristics
Dioptase is a mineral from the silicate group, cyclosilicate subgroup. It forms secondarily from siliceous solutions containing copper, in cracks and fissures of limestone and sandstone rocks or in copper deposits.
Dioptase crystallizes in the trigonal system with prismatic crystals and granular masses. It has a vitreous or dull luster and a characteristic green color ranging from emerald to dark bluish green.
The name dioptase comes from the Greek words "dia" and "opto", meaning "through" and "vision".

Iran, Russia, Namibia, United States, Republic of the Congo, Chile and Peru.
Therapeutic properties
Dioptase is considered a healing stone associated with the heart chakra. It helps dissolve wounds of abandonment from the inner child, brings a new vision and attitude toward life and gives a new approach to romantic relationships.
On a physical level, it is said to lower blood pressure, relieve headaches, reduce fatigue and regenerate the liver.
