Mineralogical characteristics
Hematoid quartz or red quartz is a reddish-orange variety of quartz due to the presence of iron. The variety of red quartz from northern Spain is called Jacinto de Compostela. It is a silicon oxide, colored by the abundant presence of iron oxide inclusions: hematite, oligist or brown limonite.

Therapeutic properties
Red quartz is considered a powerful revitalizer of the body, working especially on the base chakra and raising energy. It is often recommended for recovery after convalescence. On a physical level, it supports liver function.
