Blue quartz, also known as sapphire quartz, is a bluish variety of quartz that may be translucent or opaque. Its color is due to inclusions of other materials, such as magnesium, riebeckite and crocidolite. Massive quartzite with inclusions of blue minerals is also called blue quartz. Blue quartzite is a metamorphic rock with a high quartz content.

Therapeutic properties
Blue quartz is a stone associated with the 5th chakra. It is a stone indicated for calming and soothing. It encourages communication. It helps relax the body and sleep well. On a healing level, it is often used for all kinds of throat conditions, reducing inflammation and balancing the area.
