Carnelian

Carnelian is an orange variety of chalcedony, a microcrystalline quartz that forms reniform aggregates. It is usually found in massive habit. It is also often called carnelian agate, as it sometimes displays the characteristic bands of agate. Its color is due to the iron oxide it contains. It usually appears in hydrothermal veins and in volcanic or sedimentary rocks.

Carnelian helps balance the 1st and 2nd chakras, bringing vitality and strength. It supports overcoming fears, insecurities and discouragement. It facilitates the ability to relate to others and helps regulate emotions. On a healing level, carnelian is said to strengthen and heal the sexual and reproductive organs, and it is often used together with garnet to activate sexual energy.
