Mineralogical characteristics
Blue chalcedony is a variety of microcrystalline quartz. It may be mammillary, botryoidal or stalactitic. It appears in hydrothermal veins, volcanic rocks and sedimentary rocks. Blue chalcedony is white when pure, but it may have different colors when it contains inclusions of other minerals. When chalcedony displays well-defined bands, it is called agate.

Therapeutic properties
Blue chalcedony is considered a stone of gentle and calming energy. For this reason, it is often recommended for children. It brings serenity, creativity and optimism. It encourages expression, listening and communication. On a healing level, it is said to have an anti-inflammatory effect, to strengthen the immune system and to help heal the lungs.
