Mineralogical characteristics
Cacoxenite forms characteristic acicular coatings from golden yellow to orange. It appears in phosphate pegmatites and in limonite deposits.
Its name was given by 19th-century mineralogists; it derives from Greek and means "unwanted guest" or "bad foreigner", referring to the meaning of cacoxenite as a sign of unwanted phosphate in iron ore.

Therapeutic properties
Cacoxenite is considered a stone of holistic healing. It is used in meditation and to recover memories that require healing or integration. Cacoxenite helps release inhibitions and restrictions, bringing a new vision.
